We make
New Orleans
Happen.
AFSCME Local 2349 is a proud chapter of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), the largest public sector union in the United States. With a history dating back to 1932, AFSCME represents 1.3 million public service workers, including healthcare providers, corrections officers, sanitation workers, and many others who are essential to our communities.
As part of this national organization, Local 2349 stands strong in its commitment to advocate for workers' rights, fair wages, and safe working conditions. We believe in the power of collective bargaining and unite to protect the interests of our members in the face of ever-changing political and economic challenges.
AFSCME has long been active in advocating for issues such as single-payer healthcare, pension protections, and the expansion of public sector benefits. Our union has been a driving force behind campaigns that support the dignity and rights of workers across sectors.
Through our efforts at Local 2349, we contribute to this mission by working to ensure that public employees are treated fairly and that their voices are heard. We are a part of a nationwide network of 3,400 local unions and 58 councils, which share the common goal of advancing public sector labor rights.
